In today’s world, protection of data, or cybersecurity as it is better known as, is all too relevant. In order to protect our nation’s well being, the federal government is proposing a four-pronged program that will include the hiring of 3-6,000 IT professionals. This program also addresses threats in the private sector and beyond.
- The U.S. government is trying to hire more cybersecuirty workers, however it does not have the funds to meet its goals.
- The gov’t is offering lots of training opportunities and giving scholarships to get more IT help and recruiting and retaining talent.
- People do not believe the government is able to protect its cyber information. almost 2/3 of people do not think the federal government is able of detecting cyberattacks.
“To improve retention and development, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management will work with agencies to develop cybersecurity career paths, badging and credentialing programs, and rotational assignments, as well as provide opportunities for employees to obtain new skills and become subject matter experts in their field.”
